I was in darkness.
So much darkness, all around me.
It was consuming me, creeping up from every corner. Everywhere I looked, there was only shadow pressing closer and closer. The only thing I could still see, radiating the faintest glow, was my golden armor, my golden cape, and my golden crown.
But even that fragile light faded.
And then the darkness swallowed me whole.
I sat there in the void, convinced I would never leave. No light, no sound, no hope. Just nothingness. Eternal Nothingness.
And yet… I could feel a presence. A subtle force standing with me. It felt like angels were on my side, giving me strength to go on. Then, in the midst of that consuming dark, a door appeared.
I stepped through.
Beyond it there was nothing but light – blinding, endless light. I asked myself: Is this it? Only darkness or light? Is there nothing in between?
I don’t know how, but I was pushed out of the light. It was as if unseen hands guided me, showing me a hidden path I could not see before. And suddenly, I stood in a forest.
The world around me was drained of color, only white and black.
Except for me – the golden king.
I wandered deep into the forest, cutting my way through the endless trees. The more I walked, the weaker I grew. Even the invisible force beside me – my angel, my guardian – seemed to be losing hope.
Just when my arms gave out and I could no longer carry on, I heard a voice:
“The end is near.”
Then I saw it – a blinding light. The angel stood before me and handed me a torch. I became the light-bearer.
With that flame, I found the path and reached the forest’s end. Before me stretched a vast chasm, bridged only by a narrow crossing. On the other side stood a great castle.
It felt familiar, as if I had always known this place.
I crossed the bridge and entered the castle. Through the long king’s hall I walked, until at the very end I saw him: a man seated on the throne.
I drew my sword.
And suddenly, I remembered.
This was my kingdom.
The angels were on my side.
And I had returned to reclaim it.
I told the man before me: “I am back. And I am taking my kingdom.”
He laughed, insisting it was impossible. He had done everything in his power to trap me in the void, to erase me. He thought he had won.
But when he raised his weapon to fight, I struck him down.
The moment my sword cut through, he dissolved into shadow – back into the void from which he came.
I sat upon the throne.
And instantly, the world burst back into color. The forest bloomed. The kingdom awakened.
I was home.
“The King stayed in the void – waited for the door to open, for the light to come.
He didn’t rush.
It’s almost as if he is in a prayer.
So YOU too, stay in stillness and wait for the light to come when the time is right.”
– For the light always comes –
