As I began balancing my chakras and raising my vibration, I noticed I was losing the desire for certain foods. At first, beef and pork started to feel heavy, almost making me feel sick, so I let them go. Soon, I transitioned to only eating chicken, then fish, and after a few more months, I found myself fully vegan.

This transition wasn’t a forced decision but rather felt like an inner shift —a deep intuition, or my body telling me, “Hey, this doesn’t resonate with us anymore.” As my vibration continued to rise, avoiding meat and animal products became more natural.
It’s been a gradual journey, and I believe that’s key. Rather than rushing into being vegan overnight, I let my body guide me, taking it one step at a time. I started by phasing out processed foods, sweets, and snacks, then gradually cut out red meat, then poultry, and eventually all animal products.

This pace allowed me to adjust smoothly, and it’s a process I’d recommend to others. When we let our intuition lead, we can avoid unnecessary pressure or stress and allow our bodies to align with these changes naturally.

Growing up in a region where daily meat consumption is the norm made this choice even more significant for me. We have high rates of colon cancer, diabetes, and inflammatory diseases—health conditions that also affect my family, often linked to heavy meat intake. Despite the challenges, I was clear that I wanted to choose a different path. As I moved away from certain foods, I became curious about how to nourish myself with plant-based options.

This curiosity led me to extensive research about veganism, nutrients, and food combinations to make sure I was getting everything my body needed. I began supplementing with B12 regularly and added vitamin D during the winter months.
This journey, however, is just my experience, not medical advice. I want to stress that I’m not a medical professional, and this is simply what worked for me. For instance, changing my diet helped resolve my lifelong eczema, allergies, and anemia. For the first time in my life, I was able to gain and maintain a healthy weight, which felt like a breakthrough. These results are personal and may not apply to everyone, so listening to your own body’s needs is essential.

One unexpected joy has been sharing this journey with others. As family and friends saw the changes in my energy and health, and tried the delicious meals I was making, they became open to plant-based eating themselves. It was rewarding to watch others become curious and willing to try new things. In the process, I even inspired a few people to go vegan.

To stay informed, I followed various online resources and YouTube channels, with favorites like Mic the Vegan, Cheap Lazy Vegan, and Avant-Garde Vegan. I especially appreciated Mic the Vegan for his scientific approach, which helped me understand the nutrition aspect more deeply.

Initially, I identified strictly as vegan, but over time, I felt that the term didn’t fully reflect my approach. Now, I prefer to say I’m plant-based or simply that I avoid animal products.

This journey has taught me that self-compassion and patience are crucial. Becoming vegan wasn’t an instant decision; it was a gradual process that allowed me to honor my body’s needs and respect my intuition. If you’re considering a similar path, remember to be kind to yourself, avoid rushing, and allow the journey to unfold at your own pace. When we approach it mindfully, the journey itself becomes part of the transformation.
